Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Graduate Degree from a recognized university. In addition, they must have either of the following:
- A Diploma in Sports Coaching in a relevant sport from the National Sports Institute run by Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (Sports Authority of India).
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching (PGDSC) from Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior, or a Central Sports University or any other sports university recognized by UGC or Bihar Sports University.
Sports Achievements
Candidates must have mandatory sports achievements as per the Bihar Sports Service (Recruitment and Service Conditions) Rules, 2025. This includes having represented the country or the state in national/international championships or having participated a specific number of times in inter-university, junior championships, inter-services, or other recognized competitions.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 21 years as of August 1, 2025. The maximum age is:
- Unreserved (Male): 37 years.
- Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female) & Unreserved (Female): 40 years.
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male & Female): 42 years.
- Government employees of Bihar are eligible for a 5-year age relaxation, subject to a maximum of 5 attempts.
- Persons with Benchmark Disability are eligible for an additional 10-year age relaxation.
- Ex-servicemen are given a 3-year age relaxation plus the number of years spent in defense service, provided their actual age does not exceed 57 years on the date of application.
Selection Process
The selection process is three-tiered:

- Interview: The final stage of selection.

Application Fee
The examination fee is ₹100 for each candidate. Those who do not enter their Aadhaar number will have to pay an additional Biometric fee of ₹200.
Application Process
- One Time Registration (OTR): All applicants must first complete the OTR process on the BPSC website https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.4
- Profile Creation: Complete the six steps of profile creation, including personal details, address, qualifications, and uploading a live photo and signatures.
- New Application: After locking the profile, candidates can apply for the relevant advertisement under the “New Application” tab.
- Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online.
Important: Once the application is submitted and payment is made, there is no provision for correction. If any error is made, the candidate must cancel the application and apply again, but the fee will not be refunded.
