BPSC Assistant Section Officer Exam on Sept. 10, Download e-Admit Card

Patna, Bihar – The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to conduct the preliminary competitive examination for the post of Assistant Section Officer (V.S. 37/2025) on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The exam will be held in a single shift across 195 examination centers located in 11 districts of the state.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates are required to arrive at their designated exam center at 9:30 AM, which is two and a half hours before the exam begins. Entry to the examination center will not be permitted after 11:00 AM. Candidates must remain in the examination hall until the exam concludes.

Admit Card Information

The e-admit cards for the examination will be available for download starting September 4, 2025. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging into their account on the BPSC website, https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in/candidate/login. The downloaded e-admit card will display the district assigned to the candidate. Detailed information regarding the exam center code and name will be made available on the candidate’s dashboard from September 8, 2025.1 2

Candidates must ensure that the downloaded e-admit card has a clear barcode along with their roll number. An extra copy of the admit card must be brought to the exam center and handed over to the invigilator after signing it during the examination. Admit cards will not be sent to candidates by post.

Open-Book Examination and Prohibited Items

The preliminary examination is an open-book test, allowing candidates to bring books with them. Candidates are permitted to bring a maximum of three books: one for General Knowledge, one for Mathematics, and one for General Science. Only textbooks from boards such as N.C.E.R.T, B.S.E.B, and I.C.S.E. are allowed. Guides, photocopies of books, or handwritten notes are not permitted inside the exam hall. Before entering, candidates must write their name and roll number on the books they bring. Sharing of books is strictly prohibited.3

The use of electronic items such as calculators, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi gadgets, electronic pens, pagers, and smartwatches is strictly forbidden inside the exam center. The possession of any electronic material inside the examination room will be considered misconduct. Additionally, items like markers, white fluid, blades, and erasers are also prohibited.

Penalties for Misconduct

Candidates found engaging in misconduct or in possession of electronic materials will be barred from BPSC examinations for the next five years. Spreading misleading or sensational rumors related to the exam may result in a three-year ban from BPSC examinations. Punitive action will also be taken under the Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, for candidates found engaging in misconduct.

There will be no negative marking in the preliminary examination. Candidates are advised to disregard any rumors and refer to the official BPSC website for authentic information.
