
NEW DELHI – The State Appropriate Authority for the PC & PNDT Act, in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), has announced a six-month training program for medical practitioners. The course, titled “The Fundamentals in Abdomino-Pelvic Ultra Sonography: Level One,” is specifically designed for M.B.B.S doctors and aims to train them in accordance with the provisions of the Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act.
The program’s announcement, made by the Directorate of Family Welfare, GNCT of Delhi, highlights the importance of adhering to the (Six Months Training) Rules of 2014 and its subsequent amendment from June 26, 2020. This training is mandatory for all eligible medical practitioners to ensure compliance with the law, which seeks to prevent sex selection through diagnostic techniques.

Submission and Counseling Information
The last date for submitting applications is September 24, 2025. Submissions should be made to the office of the Dean, USM&AHS, located at Room No E-404, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Sector-16C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110078.
Following the application submission and a subsequent counseling session, a list of eligible candidates will be published on the official websites of the Health and Family Welfare Department, DSHM, PC & PNDT Delhi, and GGSIPU.
Course Curriculum
The syllabus and training pattern for the program will align with the official notification published in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Subsection (i), dated January 10, 2014, and the amendment dated June 26, 2020.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the State Appropriate Authority, PC & PNDT Act, GNCT of Delhi, to regulate and monitor the use of pre-natal diagnostic techniques, ensuring they are used for medical purposes and not for sex determination.
