The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the General Duty (GD) Constable exam annually to recruit candidates for positions in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) such as BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF, Assam Rifles, and NCB.

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
    • Qualifying race (5 km for males in 24 mins, 1.6 km for females in 8.5 mins; Ladakh: 1.6 km for males in 7 mins, 800m for females in 5 mins).
  • Physical Standard Test (PST):
    • Height: Male 170 cm (general), 165 cm (reserved); Female 157 cm (general), 155 cm (reserved).
    • Chest (Male): 80 cm unexpanded, 85 cm expanded (general); 76/81 cm (reserved).
  • Detailed Medical Examination (DME):
    • Vision: 6/6 distant, N6 near (better eye); 6/9 distant, N9 near (worse eye).
    • No color blindness, flat foot, or major deformities.
    • Includes biometric verification and document check.

  • Pay Scale: ₹21,700–₹69,100 (Level-3, 7th CPC).
