Departmental Eligibility:
Employees of the High Court/Subordinate Courts in Punjab, Haryana, or U.T. Chandigarh serving for at least 5 years in roles not below Senior Assistant, B-grade Assistant, or Stenographer/Judgment Writer.

- Direct Posts: Candidates must be between 35 to 40 years as of the last date (04 August 2025).
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation of age by length of defence service plus 3 years.

Chandigarh High Court Reader Selection Process
The selection process for Reader (Legal) posts includes the following stages:
- Written Examination (250 Marks)
- English Composition: 50 Marks
- Civil Law: 100 Marks
- Criminal Law: 100 Marks
- Each paper will be of 3 hours duration. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% in English, 40% in each of Civil and Criminal Law papers.
- Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying Only)
- Word Processing Test (Typing) – 10 Marks

- Viva-Voce (30 Marks)
- Minimum qualifying marks: 35%
