SBI Recruitment 2025 for Specialist Cadre Officer on Regular / Contract Basis : Overview

State Bank of India (SBI) is inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for Specialist Cadre Officer posts on a Regular/Contract Basis.

Candidates must apply online through the official SBI careers website and ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying. General Manager (IS Audit)

  • Age (as on 30.06.2025): Minimum 45 years & Maximum 55 years
  • Basic Education Qualifications (Essential): B.E./B. Tech in (Computer Science/Computer Science & Engineering/ Information Technology / Information Security/Electronics/Electronics & Communications Engineering/ Software Engineering or equivalent) OR MCA or M. Tech/M.Sc. in (Computer Science/ Computer Science & Engineering/ Information Technology/Information Security/ Electronics/ Electronic & Communications Engineering or equivalent) from a Govt. recognized University/Institution/Board.
  • Other Qualifications (Essential): CISA, CEH, ISO 27001:LA (All 3 mandatory and valid as on interview date). CISA by ISACA, USA, CEH by EC Council, USA & ISO 27001 Lead Auditor by NABCB accredited Certification Bodies.
  • Other Qualifications (Desirable): CISSP by ISC2, MBA from recognized institute/university (Optional).
  • Essential Experience: Minimum 15 years in BFSI / IT / Information Security Consultancy on IS Audit / Cyber Security Audit, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.

  • Other Qualifications (Essential): CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) by ISACA USA & ISO 27001:2022 LA by NABCB (Both mandatory and valid as on interview date).
  • Other Qualifications (Desirable): CEH By EC Council USA / CISSP by ISC2.
  • Essential Experience: Minimum 6 years in BFSI/IT/Information Security Consultancy with 3 years in IS Audit/ Cyber Security Audit / Information Security Consultancy.

  • Candidates must have a valid email ID and keep it active until the declaration of results.
  • Register online through the link on the SBI website2: https://bank.sbi/web/careers/current-openings.
  • Pay the application fee online using Internet Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card.
  • Scan and upload a recent photograph and signature as per specifications. Online application will not be registered without these.
  • Fill the application form carefully. Information can be saved and edited three times before final submission.
  • Once the application is filled completely, submit it and proceed to online fee payment.
  • After successful transaction, print the e-receipt and application form.
  • Applicants are advised to take a printout of the system-generated online application forms after registering.
  • No change in category is permitted after online application registration.
  • Application fees once paid are non-refundable.

SBI Recruitment 2025 for Specialist Cadre Officers: Selection Process

The selection process involves shortlisting and an interview. For contractual posts, CTC negotiations will follow.

Shortlisting

Mere fulfillment of minimum qualifications and experience does not guarantee an interview call. A shortlisting committee will decide the parameters and the number of candidates to be shortlisted. The Bank’s decision regarding shortlisting is final.

Interview

The interview carries 100 marks, and the qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.

CTC Negotiation

  • General Manager (IS Audit): Negotiations will be done in order of merit. If a selected candidate does not agree to the negotiated price, it will be considered a voluntary exit, and the next candidate in the merit list will be called.
  • Assistant Vice President (IS Audit): Negotiations will occur at the time of the interview.
  • Annual CTC is negotiable and depends on experience, current emoluments, and place of posting.
  • Annual increment (7-10% from the second year) is subject to a performance appraisal score of at least 90%.

Merit List

The merit list for selection will be prepared in descending order based on interview scores only. In case of a tie, candidates will be ranked by age in descending order.


SBI Recruitment 2025 for Specialist Cadre Officers : Important Dates

  • Online Registration of Application & Payment of Fees: From 11.07.2025 to 31.07.2025
  • Cut-off date for Age & Educational Qualifications: 30.06.2025
  • OBC Certificate Issuance Period: 01.04.2025 to the date of interview (if called for).
  • EWS Income & Asset Certificate: Must be obtained on or before the closure of the online application date to apply under EWS, otherwise apply under General Category. Required for verification on the date of document verification.

Other Important Points

  • Vacancies are provisional and may vary.
  • Candidates must possess the prescribed minimum educational qualification and relevant full-time experience as on specified dates.
  • Reserved category candidates can apply for General category vacancies if they fulfill all General category eligibility criteria.
  • Age relaxation for reserved categories is as per Govt. of India guidelines.
  • OBC candidates in the “creamy layer” are not entitled to reservation/relaxation and should apply under the General category.
  • Caste certificates for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) must be in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
  • EWS reservation is governed by DoPT O.M. dated 31.01.2019. EWS vacancies are tentative.
  • Candidates must produce a valid “Income and Asset Certificate” for the relevant financial year for EWS benefits.
  • Experience certificates must specifically state experience in the required field.
  • The Bank reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage without reason.
  • Fee exemption seekers must submit valid certificates during document verification.
  • Candidates with adverse reports regarding character/antecedents/moral turpitude are ineligible.
  • If multiple applications are submitted for the same post, only the last valid one will be retained, and fees for others forfeited.
  • Admission to all stages is provisional, subject to fulfilling eligibility.
  • Candidates serving in Govt./Quasi Govt. offices, PSUs, Nationalized Banks, and Financial Institutions must submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) at the time of the interview.
  • Selected candidates must produce a discharge certificate from their employer when joining.
  • The Bank’s decision in all matters regarding eligibility, interview conduct, and selection is final.
  • Furnishing incorrect/false information or suppressing material facts will lead to cancellation of candidature/termination of services.
  • Engagement/Appointment is subject to medical fitness.
  • Travel expenses (Air fare Economy Class up to Bank approved specified limit for AVP/Dy. Manager and Actual fare economy class for GM Post by shortest route) will be reimbursed for shortlisted outstation candidates. Local conveyance will not be paid. Ineligible candidates will not be reimbursed.
  • No change/correction in application particulars (including category) will be entertained once submitted.
  • Candidates must provide details of any pending criminal cases. Suppression of facts may lead to cancellation of candidature. The Bank may conduct independent verification.
