Pay Scale

• Rs. 29,500 – Rs. 65,000 (after regularization)
• During the temporary period of one year, selected candidates will receive consolidated wages as per applicable minimum wages.

Service Period

• Candidates selected as “Artisan Grade – IV” must serve at their allocated Manufacturing Unit for at least 20 years from the date of joining. No transfer requests will be entertained for the first 20 years of service.

Reservations & Relaxations

• Category-wise reservation will be as per government guidelines.
• Vacancies are reserved for UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST categories, PWD, and Ex-Servicemen.
• PWD Categories Identified:
  • OH: Locomotor Disability (OA or OL), leprosy cured, Dwarfism & Acid Attack Victim
  • VH: Low Vision

Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualifications

• Class Xth PLUS National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) PLUS National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade.
• Minimum Marks: Not less than 60% marks for General & OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC & ST candidates in both NTC/ITI and NAC.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Regional Language for Tamil Nadu, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka based Units and Hindi for other Units.

Upper Age Limit (as on 1st July 2025)

• General/EWS: 27 Years
• OBC (NCL): 30 Years
• SC/ST: 32 Years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: By 5 years
• OBC (NCL): By 3 years
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD):
  • General: By 10 years
  • OBC (NCL): By 13 years
  • SC/ST: By 15 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per extant Government rules.
• J&K Domiciled Candidates: By 5 years for those domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during 1/1/1980 to 31/12/1989.
• Up to 07 years of age relaxation on the basis of relevant work experience in the prescribed format.

Medical Standards

• Applicants must possess sound health.
• Appointment is subject to meeting health standards prescribed by the Company after a medical examination. No relaxation in health standards.

• Candidates can apply for ONE unit and ONE trade only. In case of multiple submissions, only the last submitted application will be considered.

Selection Process

Candidates will undergo a Two-Stage Selection Process. Both stages must be cleared to be considered for the Merit List.

Stage I: Computer Based Examination (CBE)

• All candidates will appear for a Computer Based Examination (CBE) in their respective trades.
• Candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test based on CBE marks in a 1:5 ratio to the number of vacancies per trade and category.
• PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates will receive relaxation in cut-off marks (minimum qualifying of 30 Marks for UR/EWS and 22.5 Marks for OBC/SC & ST Categories) for shortlisting in the 1:5 ratio.
• The CBE will be trilingual (Hindi, English, or a third language of choice – Kannada, Telegu, and Tamil).
  • Foundryman Discipline: Bilingual (Hindi or English only).
  • Electronics Mechanic Discipline: Hindi, English, or Kannada only.

Stage II: Skill Test & Document Verification

• Candidates shortlisted for this stage must attend and complete it.
• Document Verification will be conducted to confirm eligibility.
• The Skill Test is qualifying in nature.
• The final merit list will be prepared solely based on the CBE Score for candidates found eligible and qualified in the Skill Test.

Preference for Best/Runner-Up Apprentice

• Best Apprentice/Runner-Up Apprentice from All India Skill Competitions conducted by The Directorate General of Employment and Training will be given preference.
• These candidates are exempted from the Computer Based Test and will be directly called for the Skill Test, provided they fulfill other eligibility criteria.
• Induction:
  • Best Apprentice: Artisan Grade-IV with 2 increments.
  • Runner-Up Apprentice: Artisan Grade-IV at the minimum of the scale.

Important Dates

• Tentative Date of Examination: Mid-September (Exact date shall be intimated at the time of issue of Admit Cards, likely in second week of September, 2025).

General Instructions

• Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility criteria and provide correct information. Incorrect or false information may lead to rejection of candidature or termination of services.
• Details of categories (SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, PwD, J&K domiciled, Ex-servicemen) must be carefully mentioned as they cannot be changed later.
• OBC candidates not covered under ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ should indicate their category as ‘GENERAL’.
• Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
• Candidates employed in Government/PSUs must apply through ‘Proper channel’ or submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ at the time of the Skill Test.
• Candidates must be able to furnish ITI/NAC Mark sheets at the time of the Skill Test.
• Candidature is provisional at all stages, and mere issuance of a roll number/call letter does not imply final clearance.
• Candidates should have a valid and active e-mail ID for at least one year for communication from BHEL.
• BHEL reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/reopen the recruitment process without prior notice.
• Legal proceedings will be instituted only in the respective cities/towns where the units are located, and the courts there will have sole jurisdiction.
