Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent from a recognized university.

- Unreserved (Male): 37 years
- Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female) and Unreserved Female: 40 years
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male & Female): 42 years
Age Relaxation
- Bihar Government Employees: Up to 5 years.
- Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 10 years.
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years plus the duration of their service in defense, provided their age does not exceed 57 years on the application date.
Selection Process
The BPSC AEDO selection process is based on a written objective-type examination. There will be no interview.
Written Examination
- The exam will consist of three objective papers.
- Paper 1: General Language: This is a qualifying paper with 100 questions (100 marks) over 2 hours. It is divided into General English (30 marks) and General Hindi (70 marks). Candidates must score a minimum of 30% in both languages.
- Paper 2: General Studies: This paper has 100 objective questions (100 marks) with a duration of 2 hours.
- Paper 3: General Aptitude: This paper also has 100 objective questions (100 marks) with a duration of 2 hours.
- Negative Marking: There is a provision for negative marking of 1/3rd for each wrong answer.
Qualifying Marks
Candidates must obtain the following minimum qualifying marks in the written exam:
- General Category: 40%
- Backward Class: 36.5%
- Extremely Backward Class: 34%
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Women, and Persons with Disability: 32%
Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination. If marks are equal, the candidate with higher marks in General Studies will be ranked higher. If those marks are also the same, the older candidate will be given preference. If both age and marks are the same, the candidate whose name comes first in the alphabetical order of the Devnagari script will be given priority.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted online through the BPSC official website, www.bpsc.bihar.gov.in.
- Candidates must complete a one-time registration (OTR) on the new portal.
- Candidates must have a valid and active email ID and mobile number for OTR.
- The application fee is ₹100. An additional biometric fee of ₹200 is required if the Aadhaar number is not provided as an identity proof.
- All required documents and certificates must be uploaded. Candidates must ensure that all certificates are valid on or before the last date of application, September 26, 2025.
- After submitting the online application, candidates should download and print two copies of the application form for their records.
- The hard copy of the application form and other documents do not need to be sent to the BPSC office.
