• For Constable (Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Sweeper, Khoji):
  • Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Must be proficient and skilled in their respective trade.
  • Candidates will have to qualify a trade test conducted by the recruitment board to prove their proficiency.
• For Constable (Cook, Water Carrier, Waiter):
  • Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Must possess a National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) Level-I course certificate in Food Production or Kitchen from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) or an institute recognized by NSDC.
• For Constable (Carpenter, Plumber, Painter, Electrician, Pump Operator, Upholster):
  • Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • AND one of the following:
    • A two-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the relevant trade.
    • A one-year ITI or government-affiliated Vocational Institute certificate with at least one year of experience in the respective trade.

BSF Constable Tradesman Selection Process 2025

The selection process is multi-staged and designed to test candidates on their knowledge, physical fitness, and trade skills. The expected stages are:

1. Phase I: Written Examination: This will be the first hurdle, testing candidates on subjects like General Knowledge, Mathematics, Analytical Aptitude, and Basic Hindi/English.
2. Phase II: Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the written exam will be called for physical measurements (PST) and fitness tests (PET), which may include running, long jump, and high jump.
3. Phase III: Trade Test: This is a crucial stage where your practical skills in your chosen trade will be evaluated.
4. Phase IV: Document Verification: All original documents will be verified at this stage.
5. Phase V: Detailed Medical Examination (DME): A thorough medical check-up will be conducted to ensure candidates are fit for service.

A final merit list will be prepared based on performance across these stages.
