The Indian Institute of Information Technology Sri City, Chittoor (IIIT Sri City), an Institute of National Importance established in 2013, has issued a recruitment notice for teaching positions. IIIT Sri City operates under a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model and offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.S., and Ph.D. programs in various engineering and science disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria
General Educational Qualifications and Experience
All candidates must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline and have a first-class in preceding degrees (graduation onwards). If the University/Institution does not mention first class, candidates must have at least 6.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate.

- Assistant Professor Grade III (Pay Matrix Level 10):
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
- Relevant Experience: None
- Other Essential Requirements: None
- Additional Desirable Requirements: One publication in an SCI journal.
- Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay Matrix Level 11):
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
- Relevant Experience: 1 year.
- Other Essential Requirements: One paper accepted for publication in an SCI (unpaid) journal.
- Additional Desirable Requirements: Two papers in SCI Journals or one patent; may be based on PhD work.
- Assistant Professor Grade I (Pay Matrix Level 12):
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
- Relevant Experience: 3 years after Ph.D. or 6 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) after obtaining M.Tech./M.E./M.Des. degree.
- Other Essential Requirements:
- 2 papers in SCI Journals outside Ph.D. work.
- One ongoing sponsored project for candidates from academia.
- Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.
- Additional Desirable Requirements:
- One Ph.D. Supervision ongoing.

- Experience in industry or R&D lab of repute.

- Relevant Experience: 6 years after Ph.D. or 9 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) out of which 3 years should be after Ph.D.

- One Ph.D. guided (Completed) as sole or Principal Supervisor plus one continuing.
- Two projects ongoing or one ongoing plus one completed.
- Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.
- Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed short-term courses.
- Additional Desirable Requirements:
- 4 Papers in SCI journals after Ph.D.
- 1 or more patents.
- Supervising two or more students for Ph.D.
- Strong liaison with industry.
- Offering courses through application of ICT.
- Professor (Pay Matrix Level 14A):
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
- Relevant Experience: 10 years after PhD or 13 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) out of which 7 years are to be after Ph.D. At least four years to be at Associate Professor level with AGP of Rs.9500/level 13A2 in an Institute of repute.
- Other Essential Requirements:
- Two Ph.D. degrees guided (completed) in Career as sole or Principal/Main Supervisor.
- During the past 4 years: 3 papers in SCI Journals; one high value sponsored or consultancy project; academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed courses offered as coordinator and main teacher; two experiments or Computational /Design projects added to teaching laboratories 1where appropriate.
- Additional Desirable Requirements:
- One or more patents.
- Supervised (Completed) more than three students for PhD.
- Preparing E-Learning material.
- At least one self-financed short-term course offered every year.
- Strong liaison with industry.
- Offering significant support to Institute Administration.

Ph.D. Degree (Computer Science and Engineering or related topics).
- Broad Research Areas: Machine Learning, Data Sciences, Computer Vision, Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, IoT, Computer Networks, Information Security, Cloud Computing, Theoretical CS, Software Engineering, Real Time Systems.
- Electronics and Communication Engineering:
- Eligibility Criteria: B.E./B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering or relevant stream/degree). M.E./M.Tech./M.Des/MS(R) (Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering or relevant stream/degree). - Broad Research Areas: IoT, Robotics, Signal and Image Processing.
- Mathematics and Data Science:
- Eligibility Criteria: M.Sc in Mathematics or Statistics with Ph.D in relevant Mathematics or Statistics or Data Science & AI or related topics.
- Broad Research Areas: Numerical analysis, statistics (both theoretical and applied), linear algebra, discrete mathematics, mathematical logic, analysis, all topics of pure and applied mathematics, strong applications across all areas of Mathematics and Statistics.
- English:
- Eligibility Criteria: M.A and/or M.Phil in English/English Language Studies/English Language Teaching/NPTEL (Effective Communication) and preferably qualified in UGC NET/JRF. Ph.D. in English Language Studies/English Language Teaching. PGDTE/PGCTE is desirable.
- Areas of Research: English Language Studies/English Language Teaching/Corporate Communication; ICT integrated English Language Pedagogy; English for Specific Purposes (ESP).
- Desirable: Cambridge CELTA/DELTA, Certificate in Soft Skills/Public Speaking/Business Communication.
Other Essential Requirements
- Candidates should be able to teach a maximum number of core and/or elective courses at UG and PG Level offered by the department.
- Candidates must possess at least one degree from graduation onward from IISc/IITs/IIITs/NITs/IIMs/ISI/IISERs/TIFR/IMSc/CMI (for CSE, ECE, Mathematics & Data Science).
- Post-doc from IMSc/CMI will also be considered for shortlisting in Mathematics & Data Science.
- Alternatively, candidates should be working in a regular pay scale at IISc/IITs/IIITs/NITs/IIMs/ISI/IISERs/TIFR.
- Degrees obtained from abroad will be considered if offered by National University/Institute of respective country or by Institutions in QS/THE World Ranking up to 500 (last two years).
- Experience on a part-time basis, daily wages, visiting/guest faculty, or purely on contract (fixed remuneration) will not be counted.
- Last month’s pay slip is essential and must be attached.

Academic Profile Details:
A detailed academic profile including the following is required to be submitted:
- Teaching Plan: Indicating core courses the applicant can teach and an expanded statement of objectives and long-term interests in coursework development. For candidates with prior teaching experience, it should include student feedback ratings, profiles of 3 best courses taught in the last three years (course outline/teaching plan, novel methods, online content, term papers, group activity, etc.). Also include details of any teaching-related awards and participation in teacher development programs. Note: Teaching Plan is not required at the time of application, but upon shortlisting.
- Research Plan: Highlighting current and past research interests and achievements, future plans for short and long terms, and achievements of guided research scholars. Candidates are also expected to submit a one-page abstract of two research proposals after joining the Institute. Note: Research Plan is not required at the time of application, but upon shortlisting.
- Details of Journal publications: (SCI/SCIE only) – List of journal publications along with copies of 4 best papers authored in the last 5 years chronologically.
- Details of Awards, Patents, Prizes, etc.
- Research Guidance: (only Ph.D. with formal Guide Status) – Include details of ongoing supervision.
- Details of Externally funded / Sponsored projects:
- Industrial Experience and Consultancy: Details of industrial experience and relevance to proposed teaching and research.
- Other Activities: Lab experiments added, outreach activity, E-learning/ICT based methodology adopted for teaching, Text books and Monographs, continuing education programs/conferences organized.
- Any other relevant but brief information on academic standing.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two or three phases:
- Written test: Only for Pay Level 10 & 11.
- Seminar presentation: For all Pay Levels (10, 11, 12, 13A2 & 14A).
- Interview: For all Pay Levels (10, 11, 12, 13A2 & 14A).
- For Pay Levels 10 & 11, only candidates shortlisted from the written test will be invited for Seminar Presentation.
- For Pay Levels 12 & above, shortlisted candidates will be directly invited for seminar presentation.
- Only candidates recommended in the Seminar Presentation will be eligible to attend the interview.
The Institute reserves the right to set minimum percentage of marks higher than first class to shortlist candidates. The scrutiny committee can also raise the bar for shortlisting to restrict the number of applicants for written examination/seminar/interview if there are too many applicants.
Candidates called for the recruitment process will bear their own costs (no TA/DA will be paid).
Applicants residing abroad may be permitted to attend the presentation/interview via video conferencing based on merit, while personal presence is mandatory for applicants residing in India.

Age may be relaxed for exceptional candidates at the discretion of the scrutiny committee with the Director’s approval. A 5-year age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/PWD and women candidates.

Additional Information
- Only Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible. Offer of appointment for foreign passport holders is subject to political and security clearance.
- Reservation norms for PWD, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS are applicable as per Government of India norms. Valid category certificates must be uploaded. OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2025.
- Candidates should apply only once for a particular post; subsequent applications for the same post will not be considered. Separate applications are required for different posts.
- Candidates employed in Government/Semi-Government Organizations, Public Undertakings, Universities, and Educational Institutes must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.
- The Institute reserves the right to offer a lower post than applied for.

- Discrepancy in furnished information and supporting documents will lead to ineligibility.
- Candidates who obtained their most recent degree (Ph.D.) from IIIT Sri City will not normally be considered unless there is a 3-year gap between leaving the Institute and the application closing date.
- All recruitment and pay-fixation will be done by the Board of Governors (BoG) based on Selection Committee recommendations. Higher initial basic pay and “Top Up pay” may be recommended for exceptionally qualified candidates.
- Invitation for presentation/interview does not assure selection.
- Any updates will be published only on the Institute website.
- Canvassing in any form will invalidate candidature.
- Eligibility criteria (qualifications, experience, age limit) will be determined as of the application closing date.
- Applicants should not have been convicted by any court of law.
- Plural marriage is not permitted.
- Selected candidates will be on probation for two years, and no NOC will be given during this period.
- If faculty resigns during probation, they must serve until the end of the semester and pay two months’ salary for early exit.
- Original documents for verification must be produced at the time of presentation/interview.
- No correspondence will be entertained regarding reasons for not being shortlisted.
