Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Power Plant or Metallurgy or Production Engineering/Technology from a recognized University/Institution in India.
- Work Experience (Post-qualification): 2 years of practical experience as an engineer in a boiler plant of any organization registered under the Companies Act, 1956 / Public Sector Undertaking / Government department in the related engineering branch OR 2 years of experience as an engineer in a workshop manufacturing and repairing steam engines registered under the Factories Act. Work experience certificates must be issued by the competent authority of the registered organization/Public Sector Undertaking or Government department.

- Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): A relaxation of 10 years in their respective category.
- Ex-Servicemen: A relaxation of 5 years in their respective category.
- Jharkhand State Government employees who have completed three years of continuous service: 5 years relaxation in the prescribed maximum age limit.
Selection Process
- Written Examination: The written examination will consist of three subjective papers.1
- Paper 1: General Hindi and General English (100 marks, 3 hours) – Qualifying only (minimum 30 marks required). Marks obtained in this paper will not be counted for the merit list.
- Paper 2: Engineering Paper-I (200 marks, 3 hours)
- Paper 3: Engineering Paper-II (200 marks, 3 hours)
- Engineering papers will be in English only.

- Interview: An interview of 50 marks will be conducted.
- Final selection will be based on the sum of marks obtained in the written examination and the interview.

- Unreserved: 40%
- Backward Class-Annexure II: 36.5%
- Extremely Backward Class-Annexure I: 34%
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe & Female: 32%
- Primitive Tribe: 30%
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 40%

- Unreserved, Extremely Backward Classes (Annexure-1), Backward Classes (Annexure-II), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS): ₹600/-
- Jharkhand State Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste: ₹150/-
- Persons with Benchmark Disability (at least 40% disability): Exempted from examination fee.
- Fees are non-refundable.
How to Apply
- Apply Online through the One Time Registration System.
- No certificates are to be attached with the online application.
- Applicants must fill the online application themselves.
- Print two copies of the filled application form after submission.
- Keep all relevant certificates/documents and the fee payment receipt safe.
- Self-attested copies of all required documents must be submitted to the Controller of Examinations, Jharkhand Public Service Commission, Circular Road, Ranchi – 834001, by the specified deadline of August 18, 2025, 05:00 PM.
- The envelope must be clearly marked with Advertisement Number, Name of Examination, Applicant’s Name, and Registration No.
- Scanned passport-size photograph and signature must be uploaded.
- Applications must be filled in BLOCK LETTERS except for the signature.
- Applicant’s name, father’s name, and date of birth should match those on the Matriculation certificate/mark sheet.
- Applicants must ensure all desired original certificates are available at the time of filling the application.
Important Notes
- Reservation benefits are only for permanent residents of Jharkhand State.
- Caste certificates for reservation must be issued by the competent authority of Jharkhand State in the prescribed format.
- Creamy Layer certificate for EBC/BC-I has a validity of one year from the date of issue, but can be extended for the financial year by submitting an updated self-declaration.
- Caste certificates for Central Government services are not valid.
- Women who have migrated to Jharkhand State through marriage from other states are not eligible for reservation in Jharkhand.
- No changes/corrections can be made to the reservation category claimed in the online application after submission.
- Original certificates must be presented during document verification for the interview. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Incomplete, unsigned, or late applications will be rejected and fees will not be refunded.
- The Commission reserves the right to postpone or cancel the selection process at any time without assigning any reason.
- If any false information or concealed facts are found during verification at any stage, the Commission reserves the right to cancel the candidature.
