Overview
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has issued a vacancy notice (No. CO/P/E-RE/03/2025) dated July 11, 2025, inviting applications from dynamic, experienced, and result-oriented retired employees of Indian Railways, Central/State Governments, CPSUs, and SPUs. The re-employment is for an initial period of 1 year for positions in the Engineering Department for the USBRL Maintenance Project in J&K. The selection process is subject to vigilance and D&AR clearance.

I. Assistant Engineer/PWay & Tunnel
- Number of Posts: 01
- Location: USBRL Maintenance Project and anywhere in India as per KRCL requirement
- Service: Retired Engineering Deptt. Executives from Indian Railways / Central Govt / State Govt / CPSU’s/ SPU’s
- Mode of Appointment: Re-employment basis for an initial period of 1 year
- Scale of Pay: Junior Scale in 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-10 (6th CPC, PB-3, Rs. 15600-39100 with GP Rs.5400/-). Pay and allowances will be as per Railway Board Guidelines (last month basic minus pension), plus USBRL project incentives/allowances.
- Brief Description of Duties:
- General Duties: Monitoring & Supervision of Tracks, Buildings, Structures, Tunnels, etc., for Integrated Maintenance of the Katra (Excl)- Banihal (Excl) Section of USBRL, J&K project.
- Essential Duties: Overseeing construction works and/or Quality Assurance; serving as Technical representative for Contract, Contract Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Safety; coordinating with IR for Billing, Contract Management, and periodic site inspections; supervising & monitoring works for conformance with contract documents; ensuring staff discipline and compliance with Labour Laws by contractors; assisting superiors; knowledge of IE Rules and Regulations; and any other assigned duties.
II. Senior Section Engineer/PWay
- Number of Posts: 02
- Location: USBRL Maintenance Project and anywhere in India as per KRCL requirement
- Service: Retired Engineering staff from Indian Railways / Central Govt / State Govt/ CPSU’s/ SPU’s
- Mode of Appointment: Re-employment basis for an initial period of 1 year
- Scale of Pay: As per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-7 (6th CPC, PB-2, Rs.9300-34800 with GP Rs.4600/-). Pay and allowances will be as per Railway Board Guidelines (last month basic minus pension), plus USBRL project incentives/allowances.
- Brief Description of Duties:
- General Duties: Monitoring & Supervision of Tracks, Buildings, Structures, Tunnels, etc., for Integrated Maintenance of the Katra (Excl)- Banihal (Excl) Section of USBRL, J&K project.

Eligibility Criteria
I. Assistant Engineer/PWay & Tunnel
- Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized (AICTE) University/Institution.
- Age: Up to 63 years as on the date of notification.
- Eligibility: Retired executives in Junior Scale in 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-10 (6th CPC, PB3-, Rs.15600-39100, GP Rs.5400/-) OR Retired executives in 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-11 (6th CPC, PB-3, Rs.15600-39100GP, Rs.6600/-).
- Work Experience: 2 years of working experience in Railway P-Way. Candidate should have knowledge of relevant specifications (Railway Board & RDSO) and other codes.
II. Senior Section Engineer/PWay
- Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized (AICTE) University/Institution.
- Age: Up to 63 years as on the date of notification.
- Eligibility: Retired employee in 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-7 (6th CPC, PB-3, Rs.9300-34800GP, Rs.4600/-).
- Work Experience: 1 year of working experience in Railway P-Way. Candidate should have knowledge of relevant specifications (Railway Board & RDSO) and other codes.

- Two self-attested passport size photographs.
- Service certificate (to be enclosed with Annexure A).
Selection Process
The selection is subject to vigilance and D&AR clearance of the candidate, if required. Submission of false information will lead to immediate dismissal without notice or disciplinary action. KRCL reserves the right to alter the number of vacancies, change procedures, or cancel the recruitment without citing reasons.
