Application Fee

Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and Maximum 24 years as on 13 August 2025
• Age Relaxation: 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD as per government norms
• Selection Process: Merit List based on aggregate percentage of 10th Class + ITI marks (50% weightage each) followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination

Recruitment Details – Total Vacancies – 904

• 10th Pass with minimum 50% marks from recognized board
• ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in respective trade with minimum 50% marks
• National Trade Certificate in notified trades
• Trades: Fitter, Welder, Electrician, Machinist, Painter, Carpenter, Turner, PASAA, etc.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Training Period: 1 Year Apprenticeship Training Program
• Stipend during Training: ₹8,000 – ₹12,000/- per month (as per 7th Pay Commission norms)
• Post Training Salary: Pay Level 1 – ₹18,000 – 56,900/- (7th Pay Commission)
• Grade Pay: ₹1,800/- (as per previous pay commission)
• Additional Benefits: DA, HRA, Medical Benefits, Railway Pass, Group Insurance
• Job Security: Central Government Employee Benefits after completion
• Career Growth: Promotion to higher technical grades through internal exams

Exam Difficulty & Competition Analysis

• Difficulty Level: Moderate to High – Merit-based selection on 10th + ITI percentage
• Expected Applications: 50,000-80,000 candidates for 904 posts
• Competition Ratio: Approximately 1:55 to 1:90 (High Competition)
• Previous Cut-off Range: 70-85% aggregate marks (10th + ITI combined)
• Preparation Time: 2-3 months recommended for document preparation and revision
• Success Rate: Approximately 1.1% to 1.8% selection rate – Requires strong academic record in 10th and ITI

Training Center Details

• Karnataka: Training will be conducted at respective Railway Divisions/Workshops across Karnataka
• Major Centers: Hubballi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, and associated Railway Workshops
• Training Duration: 12 months comprehensive practical and theoretical training
• Accommodation: Railway quarters may be provided subject to availability
• Training allocation will be based on merit, preference, and availability at centers
