Salary & Pay Scale Details
- Pay Scale: Level 10 – ₹33,800 – 1,06,700/- (7th Pay Commission)
- Grade Pay: ₹3,600/- (as per previous pay commission)
- Basic Salary Range: ₹9,300 – 34,800 (Old Scale equivalent)
- Probation Period: Fixed remuneration of ₹23,700/- per month for 2 years
- Additional Benefits: DA, HRA, Medical, Travel Allowance, Pension Fund
- In-Hand Salary: Approximately ₹30,000 – 50,000/- per month (after probation)
- Career Growth: Promotion to Senior Librarian and Administrative positions

Exam Difficulty & Competition Analysis
- Difficulty Level: High – Specialized Library Science knowledge required
- Expected Applications: 80,000-1,20,000 candidates for 548 posts
- Competition Ratio: Approximately 1:150 to 1:220 (Very High Competition)
- Previous Cut-off Range: 60-75% marks for general category
- Exam Pattern: 300 questions for 300 marks with negative marking (1/3rd)
- Preparation Time: 4-6 months recommended for thorough preparation
- Success Rate: Less than 0.7% selection rate – Requires intensive preparation in Library Science
