Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this Government Job Vacancy:
- Medical Qualification: A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Postgraduate Qualification: A postgraduate qualification recognized by the Board of Governors in supersession of the National Medical Commission (NMC) or an equivalent qualification.
- DNB/DrNB Equivalence: Diplomate National Board (DNB) or Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) qualifications are treated as equivalent to MD/MS and DM/MCh, respectively, as per NMC notifications.
- Teaching & Research Experience:
- Assistant Professor: A total of 3 years of teaching and research experience after the prescribed MD/MS/DNB degree, or 0 years of experience after obtaining a DM/M.Ch/DrNB degree.
- Associate Professor: A total of 6 years of teaching and research experience after the prescribed MD/MS/DNB degree, or 3 years of experience after obtaining a DM/M.Ch/DrNB degree.
- Additional Professor: A total of 9 years of teaching and research experience after the prescribed MD/MS/DNB degree, or 6 years of experience after obtaining a DM/M.Ch/DrNB degree.
- Professor: A total of 13 years of teaching and research experience after the prescribed MD/MS/DNB degree, or 10 years of experience after obtaining a DM/M.Ch/DrNB degree.
- Research Publications:
- Professor: At least four research publications, including two after appointment as Additional/Associate Professor.
- Additional Professor: At least two research publications after appointment as Associate Professor.
- Associate Professor: At least two research publications after appointment as Assistant Professor.
- Research Publication is defined as original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and case series published in specific indexed journals.
- Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR): All candidates for Super specialty departments must have completed the BCBR from an NMC-designated institution. Professors, Additional Professors, and Associate Professors must have also completed this course.
